Install the deadbolt mechanisms on the inside and outside making sure the keyed cylinder part is on the outside of the door.
Install outside door handle.
Avoid damage to the screws by using a hand screwdriver.
Align the two long screws from the inside knob into the cylinders on the exterior door knob and tighten the screws.
Screw the faceplate in to secure.
It should be equal at the top middle and bottom.
My front door knob was broken and i couldn t open the door from the inside or outside.
Align the spindle on the back of the assembly with the throughbolt and the slot in the latch.

Remove the two screws holding the strike plate in place on the door jamb and install the new one in the same position.
Place the exterior handle on the door by inserting the spindle or axle on the handle through the latch cylinder at 90 degrees.
Next you ll install the outside handle assembly.
Install both knobs by sliding the spindle through the slot in the latch.

Fit the latch bolt into the upper cross bore making sure the top is facing up there is usually an arrow on the latch bolt to indicate.
Insert the lockset tailpieces through the latch bolt and screw the handles together by tightening the retaining screws.
Here s how i did it.
Place the corresponding doorknob or lever on the interior side of the door fitting the two parts together.
The posts for the handle s lock cylinder and thumb latch should easily slide into the dead bolt and latch bolt assemblies.
I had to fix it.
Here is the handleset i bought.
If it s not adjust the latch side of the door in or out and drill pilot holes in the frame at the top and bottom on the latch side.
Stand outside and with the door closed check where the weatherstripping on the frame contacts the door.
Drive screws in partway in the holes.
The handle will stay in place leaving your hands free to secure the interior trim.
With the new dead bolt and latch bolt in place fit the handle over the door s existing holes.
Next create a rough opening around your frame that s at least 1 inch wider and taller than the outside of the door system you re installing then insert the new door into the opening and place shims on the hinge side of the door making sure there s a gap of 1 8th inch between the edge of the door and the jamb.
