The chain is a very important component that makes up a garage door opener system.
If the door won t stay open to its full extent or doesn t close flush to the ground the travel control needs an adjustment.

Press and release the close travel limit button to move the chain or belt connector forward to engage the carriage assembly.
Using your wrench you can start to loosen up the adjusting nut on the side of your carriage closest to the opener head.
Turn it counterclockwise holding the other nut in your hand to prevent it from turning.
If the up travel isn t functioning properly turn the up limit adjustment screw clockwise.
Then use the wrench to tighten this second nut clockwise until the chain is tighter but not so taut that it is completely inflexible.
