How to put up sliding closet doors.
Begin by inserting the bottom pivot into the bracket which can be screwed to the floor to the door jamb or both.
After making sure it s centered connect the upper pivot to the pivoting side of the frame opening.
Because not all doorways are plumb measure the width of the doorway at both.
Screw the jamb bracket into the bottom corner of the frame.
To get a straight cut use a miter box and hacksaw.
First carefully lean your sliding doors against a nearby wall.
You can cut them to size later on.
If you have a particularly wide closet you may need to buy more than 2 doors.
Sliding doors need to overlap in the center by 2 to 3 inches so keep that in mind as you figure your door measurements.
Once the door is approximately under the hole in the track release the pivot.
Attach the track to the header of the frame using the mounting hardware.
Cut your top track to this measurement.
It s ok if the tracks you buy are longer than the width of your closet.
Look for doors that are slightly shorter than the height of your closet opening.
