I just finished a similar project except instead of gluing it directly to the wall i screwed a piece of 1 2 mdf to the wall and then used a spray glue to glue the cork to the board.
Cork wall covering does not show scratches dents or nail holes.
To repair thin corkboard sheeting that has pulled away from its backing board apply lines of glue to either the cork or the backing material spreading the glue thin with your finger or a foam brush.
For the perfect built in bulletin board you may tack picture frame molding around the cork.
Using a craft adhesive suitable for cork is the key to securing the cork to the backing material.

For the first cork board we mounted the plywood directly to the wall with roughly 10 screws we hit the studs where we were able.
We suggest you test on spare piece first.
Wood glues also work well for cork.
