When you know there is no damage to the door you can close the garage door by disconnecting the door from the electric opener.
Once the lever is disengaged you should be able to open and close your garage door by hand.
It should click in place.
Once you disconnect it you can then lift it manually.

To manually open most garage doors you simply pull a corded handle that is attached to the door.
The bypass disconnects the door from the powered carriage but it stays on the track.
Once you are done maneuvering your garage door and are ready to re engage the automatic door opener please return the garage door back to the down position.

It should move smoothly and only require a little force to open and close.
